Going down Memory Lane with Teddy Pendergrass
I found a little time today to sit down and continue my vinyl LP collection conversion into digital. Today’s selection is one of my all-time favorites, Teddy Pendergrass. Teddy was a powerful, soulful, macho, sex symbol from his days with famed R&B Group, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and then he went on to a successful solo career.
I played his albums “Teddy” and “Life Is a Song Worth Singing” (with the volume way up!) that contained such hits as “Come Go with Me”, “Turn off the Lights”, “All I Need Is You“, “Close the Door”, “When Somebody Loves You Back” and “Cold, Cold World”.
He had dozens of more hits, which I’ll talk about as I continue on playing through the collection.
All of us guys wanted to be like Teddy “back in the day”, matter of fact, he even inspired the look that I was sporting for a while. 🙂 Come on fellas, I know you’re with me on this! And ladies, I know just the mere mention of Teddy Pendergrass, gets your little hearts throbbing. 🙂
