I’ll be speaking at Cascade High School in Leavenworth this coming Tuesday morning, March 26th, at 8:30am.
I’m representing my new non-profit foundation (501c3), “Your Gift of Life”, which gives me a platform to speak to our young people and students about mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Cascade High School lost a young student to suicide in December 2018, and the school and students are still traumatized by it very much.
I’ll be sharing my own recent experiences of dealing with depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. It was the toughest thing I’ve ever had to overcome and I almost didn’t make it, but I made it, and that’s the key and that’s what I want to share with the students. To give them hope, and to let them know that “there’s a bright side… somewhere”.
Your Gift of Life is all about helping us all to realize that life is truly a gift, and we need to cherish it as best we can.
I’m so glad now that I made it through and I’m still here. There were several friends who were right there for me throughout and I can’t thank them enough for being there for me.
Let me know if you’d like me to speak to your students or student groups and young people.
Cherish Your Gift of Life!
